Overview
BrainDump is a simple, private journaling app. We respect your privacy and design the app to collect as little data as possible.
Data We Collect
- Journal Entries: Your entries (text, title, and mood) are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData.
- No Accounts: BrainDump does not require an account and does not collect personal identifiers.
- No Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Optional Cloud Features
Currently, BrainDump stores data on-device only. If we introduce optional features like iCloud sync in the future, we will update this policy to describe how data is synced via Apple's services and provide in-app controls.
How We Use Your Data
Your data remains on your device and is used solely to provide app functionality (creating, viewing, editing, and searching entries).
Data Security
Entries are stored using iOS data protection on your device. We recommend keeping your device updated and secured with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your entries remain on your device until you delete them. Deleting the app removes app data stored on your device.
Children's Privacy
BrainDump is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. We will post updates on this page and revise the effective date.
